Whoo-ooh, I managed to keep one promise!!! E-mails were sent, and a few very heartwarming replies came back: thanks to that, the affiliates section no longer feels like the sky after a storm. More partners may be added in the near future, as (and if) I receive more answers.
I also went and – I know, wow – checked all of this website's pages
(HOW THE EFFIN' F**K DID I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT A POLYGONAL GAME CHARACTER, LIKE SRSLY)for grammar and spelling errors; a few small portions of text were altered or rewritten, but probably nothing you'd notice. What you may notice, and hopefully will, is that I made the text slightly bigger on the whole website – I don't want my Selphie fans getting all blind and s**t. And that's it for now. Hope you enjoy the cleaned-up Rapture as much as I did cleaning it up!

Oh. My. God. It's been (almost) literally eight years since my last update, and I have never felt older. But enough with the gloom: after a very long time offline, Rapture is back, and here to stay! Not much has or will change around here, except for site-related stuff, most of which I've already updated to refer to my new domain, Hora-Fugit.ORG (such a beautiful name, isn't it? <3).
I've also come to notice that, unfortunately, all of my affiliates are, well, dead, so I'll be sending out e-mails to the
really very f**king fewnew character shrines out there so as to build up some networking: hopefully, Rapture can help shed a small light on this regretfully dying community. And that's it, really. I'd almost forgotten how much I love this website, and what a pity it was that I had to let webdesigning go all those years ago. Maybe there's still a true comeback in store for me?
In the meantime, please check out Rose of May, my fifteen-year-old Tifa shrine that is now also back online (in a static state), as well as Always, my Aerith shrine ten years in the making that is the true inspiration for all of this being back online in the first place. Thank you so much for your support, and I hope a lot of people still share my feeling that the internet needs places like this!

So, I did end up writing that article on Selphie's zodiac sign, Cancer. It really is one of the most inaccurate choices Squaresoft could have come up with for Selphie, so I added my two cents on what I believe her given sign should have been. Well, whether you believe in this sort of thing or not, enjoy!

As can be expected, not much is new: just updated the link to Problematic, corrected a quote, and that was pretty much it. Seeing as I've been delving into astrology as of lately, I'm considering writing an article on Selphie's sun sign (Cancer), even though I don't believe this sort of information is very relevant. Then again, it can't hurt either, I suppose. We'll see!

Well, this is an unexpected update, and a great one at that! Today, Rapture got two new affiliates, and they are none other than Problematic and Save the Queen, Tamisa's amazing tributes to Seifer and Quistis respectively! These websites belong to la crème de la crème in the world of Final Fantasy character shrines, so do yourself a favor and go check them out!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Yeah, well... I wish. It doesn't snow much over here. But oh well, here's hoping one of those rare moments may come! Anyway, let's get to business: many Final Fantasy shrines seem to have been closing down lately, whether due to GeoCities biting the dust back in October or several gaming-related domains magically disappearing, so all broken links have been taken down: special attention goes to Trabia SeeD, the best Selphie shrine to ever exist, which belongs to the group that did not survive the GeoCities apocalypse. You will be missed! In the same line of thought, R.I.P. Balamb.ORG? No explanation was given as to why it went down...
I have also given Rapture the usual but not accounted for brush-up, by correcting/changing a few sentences here and there. Last but not least, a couple of new doujinshi have been added to the respective section.
Before I conclude this update, I would like to take the time to thank all the visitors that have supported Rapture ever since its launch over a year and a half ago, whether by signing the GuestBook, contacting me or simply spending some of their time at the shrine. I hope you continue to visit and enjoy your stays, and it's always a wonderful gift to hear from you through any of the ways mentioned above. You are the reason people like me still feel the drive to keep character shrines alive, despite them undeniably representing a dying breed in today's World Wide Web. Again: thank you.
And with that, I'm gone. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to y'all!
May 20th, 2009
So, it seems that this shrine is now officially over one year old. Time sure flies... anyway, lame nostalgic remarks aside, I have finally managed to put my hands on the concept art for Trabia's student uniform, which has led me to modify its description in the Attire section a little bit. Other than that, I've been correcting a few minor grammatical mistakes here and there that I obviously have not accounted for. There's not much else I can do for this place at this point, but I wanted to let you know that I'm still alive, and checking up on Rapture on a regular basis. ;) Well, take care!
January 1st, 2009
Happy New Year, everyone! =) Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas -- or, at least, a good enough one to make up for my horribly lame gift to you, which is a new piece of Selphie & Irvine doujinshi.
As I have mentioned several times, this place won't be seeing many updates -- not now, not ever (for it is, except for a couple of multimedia sections and the occasional donation, complete); however, the exits page is one I do try to keep clean, and I have been wondering: does anyone know what's wrong with Balamb.ORG? I haven't been able to access the shrines there for a while, but I still don't want to take off the links, just in case it's merely temporary. So, if anyone has any idea what's going on, please let me know! Either way, a new link to an awesome Squall shrine, Shift, is now up.
And I suppose this is it for now. Until next time!

Nine new doujinshi pictures added! I've also been going through some of the articles, and realizing that some things aren't written as neatly as I want them to. So, whenever I've got time (extremely vague date, considering my third year at university has just begun), I may rewrite a couple of phrases here and there: however, if done, this will imply no remarkable changes in the overall content, so you probably won't even notice. We'll see!
On a completely different note, I am extremely sad to announce that Fragmented, Europa's amazing Laguna tribute and an affiliate of Rapture's since April 27th, has been closed down. Naturally, I'm still keeping its button and respective paragraph up in the affiliates page, even if with the required "closed" sign. Indeed, it is a sad day for the increasingly nonexistent Final Fantasy VIII character shrine community. Fragmented, you will be missed.

I am glad to announce that I came back yesterday from my 22 days InterRail trip to an email by Amanda Berg containing a lovely forum signature featuring Selphie, which has allowed me to open a section for works of the same kind under Media. It should go without saying that everyone is more than welcome to send in their work as well: remember that I'm accepting pretty much anything you can think of! Help spread the Selphie love!
July 22nd, 2008
Well, there you go: a three months gap in-between updates. Now that's me. Expect longer ones in the future! Truth be told, there's not much to update around here, so I suppose I can be excused. Anyway! Two new doujinshi pictures have been added to the respective gallery. By the way, I change the wording/phrasing in some written articles every now and then, but I don't consider that updating material, so, of course, don't expect me to report back for each comma added. And on that note, I leave you. Take care!
April 27th, 2008
...Wow, that was fast. Anyway, last night I was reading through my articles (which I will be repeatedly doing for a few days, in order to check for errors of any sort) and it hit me that maybe some people out there have a harder time than myself understanding the storyline of Final Fantasy VIII. So, in order to make this website more accessible to everyone, I have written an
smallintroduction to the plot, which you can read here. Nothing fancy, but I think I succeeded at making the background story clear enough.
On a different note, Rapture has a new affiliate, the incredible Fragmented, a tribute to Laguna Loire! The best tribute to Laguna Loire, actually. I am very, very honored: Fragmented has extremely good chances of being my top favorite Final Fantasy VIII character shrine out there, so give it a visit!
April 25th, 2008
Yes!!! This baby is finished, finally! Whoo-hoo!!! Only took me two or three weeks, too. Anyway, I hope all Final Fantasy VIII fans out there enjoy Rapture: if not for anything else, at least because there's such a huge lack of Selphie tributes online. As explained here, this is the first character shrine that I've allowed myself to write freely at (you know, without all the formal s**t); I hope this turns out to have been a good option.
Because I decided to finish it first and launch it later, Rapture is pretty much complete as of today. However, I still hope to have good reasons to update more or less often, such as donations or new affiliates. So, please do help me make this place as nice and active as it can possibly be!
Either way, I had a great time working on this website: more so than I ever had with any other, actually (which explains how quickly I put it together). One thing is for sure, Rapture is a work of true love and dedication, and I hope you eventually come to like it half as much as I already do.
Well, anyway, "I hope"'s and corniness aside, just enjoy and keep in touch!
